The Sydney Morning Herald

December 9, 2009 · 4 Comments

This is the news, this is what smh.com.au dishes up to the populace? A Hollywood hell-raiser marries a bimbo, DJ quits radio station, mile-high club waitress makes the news again? The SMH has dipped lower than the Telegraph. If this is what the Herald has descended to, it’s a sad indictment of what used to be a stalwart news instrument.

Welcome to the era of instant gratification, and tabloid press passing itself off as serious reporting of ‘important’ news. Isn’t it great?!

I have the same gripe up here with the Sunday Mail. Tabloid crap is all it is. My ritual on a Sunday morning is now as follows: Wake up, make coffee and toast, remove brain, read paper.

And don’t get me started on the nightly news on tv.

Thanks Benita for pointing out that one vital step. While I’m ok at waking up, and making coffee and toast, I never seem to enjoy my newspaper.

Obviously I have been forgetting that third step.
