Yes, I think I will be the anomoly – everyone else will have those touchscreen thingies – and I’ll have my clunky, bright pink (I got it in that colour to be contrary) laptop.

I am studying for my degree in Regional Resource Management, 1st Major in Understanding Communities (yawn – compulsory)) and the second (my choice), is Natural Resource Management. The degree is specific to UTAS, at my local campus.

I’d love to have an iphone too, but seeing as how I never use my mobile it would be a misappropriation of funds. However I bought a new laptop last month and they gave me, made me take, an iPod Touch, which I thought was a gadget I didn’t need. Silly me. I am in love with it. If I had enough phone calls I would upgrade to an iphone, but alas, nobody rings me, so I’ll stay with the ipod.

You do indeed have to be careful of the charges…

Are you a student? That’s great. I was last year, at Open Uni, an old bloke. I love the gadgets ‘cos rather than take the laptop to the restaurant, or on the train, there is now this in-between device.

I took my laptop to restaurants all the time in the 90s. I was an anomaly in my local Chinese restaurant. But I only took it if I had work to do. These pretty little glass touch screen things are just for checking email, and the web, and I think you will be able to write something eventually. but who cares? it’s too much fun.

BTW what are you studying?

I must be one of the few people out there who isn’t in love with iPhones, or touch screens. I find them clunky to use, and downright irritating. Not to mention over-priced.

I DO use the wi-fi with my laptop at cafes (not Maccas), but that’s because I am a student, and my house is full of noisy teens, who LOVE their iPhones.

i love to have an iphone, I just can came around the price not so much of the iphone, the price od the internet associate with the use of the iphone, one of my girlfriend went in Italy in holiday with her iphone, she has a special plan that allow her to have $400 dollar worth of phone call and some data, anyway while in vacation in Italy she downloaded few games for her kid, and used as always, and when she got the bill, was the ridiculous amount of $2000 dollars, now my point is to have one of this gadget hand not be able to used all the time because when t an astronomical bill it is just plain ridiculous, so I’ll wait and hope that Mr Rudd will deliver soon chip internet that we can all use, actually why not free, am I asking too much to have free internet?!, love ooxx

PDA? In my day, a PDA was a Public Display of Affection. Kinda like a WAAC, but inevitably ending up to be a WAAF.

I don’t get gadgets. I go to Maccas or Gloria Jeans to get away from gadgets, not to access them further.

One day I’m sure I’ll get bitten by the gadget bug…but until then I’ll just continue to write letters with a pen and talk to people on the phone. Oh and plug your bloody phone back in, you cranky old bastard!!! xxx
