MrBB did the outside chores, like mowing the lawn etc, and I did the inside stuff. I don't regard that as being un-feminist, if there is such a word. It was just as much my house as MrBB's, thus it was my responsibility just as much as his to keep the household running. Ironing and cleaning are part of the running of the household. People would say "Why do you do HIS ironing? Can't he do his own?" Well, yes I suppose he could, but he never asked me to mow my half of the lawn, or weed half the garden. Us women moan and bleat about equality, but it has to work both ways. If men started demanding we mow our share of the lawn, or wash our share of the car, we would cry foul! I believe in equality for woman. I believe Greer et al were all about "choices", not necessarily gender roles. Thanks to the original feminists, women started making choices that they never could before. An example of this is when I chose to take my children and leave an abusive relationship. Pre-feminism, I would've stayed and kept the facade up, because that's what The Good Wife did. This is my definition of a feminist, not whether or not I make my husband do his own bloody ironing.
