More Twitter

I love Twitter, I still love Twitter after months of making a complete fool of myself in front of a crowd of people I’ve never met. I love the democracy of it. I’ve met lots of famous people. I’ve even written to a couple.

I DM’d (that’s Deep & Meaningful Messaging for the uninitiated) Mia Freedman of Mamamia & Cosmo fame. She was well up for it. She didn’t even bother wasting 140 characters, she wrote back with an endearing comment on her site. ‘If you and what’s his name don’t stop snarking at each other I’m going to ban both of you’.

See, that’s what I mean about the caring and sharing attitude here on Twitter. Another of my fave celeb twitterers is Dave Hughes. I have to tell you that he and I are like that, (crosses fingers), you know, like bro’s.

I was concerned about Dave’s seeming lack of attention to his many followers, so I wrote, ‘do you read all your tweets, blah blah blah blah blah blah…’ I used up about 1,000 tweets of 140 characters each, but I think I got the point across. He replied, ‘yes’. The rapport is amazing.

See what I mean, it’s an equal playing field here on Twitter. Superstars and celebs mixing with sychophants and suckers, and also really nice, genuine and funny people as well.

However, I do have one beef with Twitter, and that is why does Twitter insist on telling everyone where I tweet from…it’s embarrassing to see every tweet underlined with ‘from Atari Gameboy in his stinky bedroom’…

why can’t I overide that to say, ‘from my Porsche, on my new iphone’

or, ‘on my yacht, moored in Rio Di Janero harbour, on my wi-fi Apple Schmucko laptop connected to my Swiss bank’….

or ‘from Megan Fox’s penthouse, eating strawberries off her tummy & drinking Moet’

I mean, why can’t Twitter be more user friendly….
